Nortec Mfg. - Antigo, WI: NORTEC introduced the RS (TNT) Track and Trail snow processor & ice resurfacer at the weekend Vintage World Championship Snowmobile Races.

Reports from drivers and track officials on the new method of race track maintenance and grooming came back very positive. The NORTEC snow processor/ice resurfacer is a model line extension of the already popular snowmobile trail groomer/snow processor designed for grooming snowmobile trails.

Power is supplied by a farm tractor. The size of tractor needed depends on the model of NORTEC Sno Processor used. 50 hp to 200 Plus hp Tractors.

The machine features a rotating cutter drum that mills the snow/ice surface, removing the humps and bumps. Material flows over the rotor and back onto the trail or race surface. A compression pan is used for compressing snow back onto the snowmobile trail or, on a race track application, it's used for setting track grade without greatly reducing the racetrack's ice base.

Tests have shown that by milling/removing the bump before it can create multiple bumps is the key to maintaining a smooth surface, making race conditions safer.

Either hydraulic or PTO power is supplied by a farm tractor, making it a durable, easy-to-operate power unit

Close tolerance ice shaving is achieved by total control of the NORTEC processor. The tractor's 3-point hitch floats independently of the resurfacer. On-the-go adjustable gauge wheels, along with side shoes/skis, creates precise tooth to track placement. A rear leveling compression bar sets grade.
